En Llamas 87, Franklin Square: a restaurant website built for ordering and catering

En Llamas 87 is a modern Latin American grill at 885 Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square, on the corner where Guacamole Mexican Grill stood for years. Before this, the whole business online was an Instagram page and a phone number. Now it has a site built on their own photography, set up for online ordering and catering requests.

What was built

  • Menu, drinks, catering, gallery and visit pages, with both of the restaurant’s services: the deli counter on weekday mornings and the main menu from late morning on.
  • 3D and motion following your scroll (Three.js, GSAP and Lenis). The page moves the way the grill does.
  • Online ordering with card payments (Stripe checkout) on the restaurant’s own site, following the kitchen’s hours and stopping ten minutes before closing time.
  • Every paid order is written up as a kitchen ticket and emailed to the kitchen, laid out to print like a receipt. The payment company (Stripe) tells the site directly when an order is paid, so the ticket goes out even if the customer closes the tab the moment they pay, and only once.
  • Catering and bulk orders go through their own request forms rather than checkout.
  • Terms, a privacy policy, an order and cancellation policy, and cookie choices. The Google map only loads after the visitor chooses to load it.

Pausing without breaking anything

In August 2026 the restaurant decided to pause online ordering. It took a single switch. The order page became a call-to-order page with both phone numbers and the hours, checkout started refusing payments before charging a card, and catering and bulk requests carried on as normal. Turning ordering back on is the same single change.

This is why we build the system, not only the page: the restaurant decides how it takes orders, and the site follows.

Language

The site is in English, and the brand keeps its Spanish where it belongs: Amantes de la Parrilla under the name, Comida a la Vista over the deli counter. If your customers need the whole site in both languages, see bilingual websites.

Where it stands

The site is live at enllamsrestaurant.com. Online ordering is paused at the restaurant’s choice, and the kitchen takes orders by phone in the meantime.
